HEAL US WITH YOUR POWER (Part 1)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “Heal Us With Your Power” by Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Oct/Nov, 2006).

Introduction

The Bible is filled with stories of the miraculous—of people getting healed by God in wondrous ways. The truly comforting thing is that God is still healing people today! His Word reveals and proclaims this good news to us!

What God Says

Read Heb. 13:8.

Write it out.

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each passage is saying to you about God, your “miracle healer. “

Heb. 13:8:________________________________________________________

Mark 16:17-18:____________________________________________________

Jer. 33:3:________________________________________________________

John 14:12:______________________________________________________

Application

Fill in the blanks of the scriptures below (NKJV) taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. Check afterward to see how you did by looking up each one. Put each one on a 3x5 note card, memorizing them, as powerful reminders that the Lord is your healer, still healing people today!

]

Heb. 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the ______ yesterday, _______ , and forever.

Mark 16:18: “. . .they will lay ______ on the  ____, and they will _____.”

Jer. 33:3:”Call to ____, and I will ______ you, and show you _____ and ____ things, which you do not _____.”

John 14:12: “Most assuredly, I say to you, ___ who believes in ___, the works that I do he will ___ also; and greater ____ than these he will ___. . .”

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud Heb. 13:8, and discuss what it means related to Jesus still healing people today. Next, read and discuss John 14:12-14, how it relates to Jesus healing people today.

End the meeting by taking healing prayer needs for members and their families and assign the needs to members to pray out loud for those needs. End the prayer with an over-all prayer for everyone and their concerns and families.

Prayer

Memorize Heb. 13:8 and stand on this scripture that Jesus your healer is alive and is healing today, as He did yesterday and will continue to do forever! Thank the Lord that He is healing any needs you have (for yourself of for others). Thank Him also that He is merciful and faithful and that you claim healing in the name of Jesus now!
