Week 3 TELL GOD YOUR HURTS
(Part 1) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “Tell God Your Hurts” by Alice Smith (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Oct/Nov,
2006). Introduction
Some
words that people have spoken over us or actions they have taken against us
might hurt—and still hurt after years have passed. The good news is that no
matter how much time has passed, you can still tell God your hurts and He can
take them away and heal you! His Word can set you free from all hurt and
bondage. It is never too late! What
God Says
Read Ps.
139:17. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each passage might apply to your receiving help from God for your hurts (and any needs). Ps. 139:17-18:
____________________________________________________ Rom. 10:17:______________________________________________________ John 14:1:_______________________________________________________ Heb. 4:16:________________________________________________________ Application Fill in the blanks of the scriptures below (NKJV)
taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. Check afterward to see how you
did by looking up each one. Put each one on a 3x5 note card, memorizing them,
as powerful reminders that the Lord is your healer, still healing people today! ] Psalm 139:17: “How precious are Your ______ to
me, O God. . .” Rom. 10:17: So then faith comes by _______, and
____ ____by the ____ of God.” John 14:1: “Let not your ____ be troubled; you
believe in _____, believe also in ___.” Heb. 4: 16: “Let us therefore come _______ to
the _______ of grace, that we may obtain ______ and find ______ to help in time
of ____.” For Group Study Begin your group time by
reading aloud Rom. 10:17, and then discuss its significance. Discuss also how
important it is that people hear God’s Word to build their faith. Discuss ways
in which you might be able to witness to them, as you encounter them (those you
know or don’t know) in daily life.
End the meeting by praying for bold faith for every one.
Prayer Memorize Heb. 4:16, and then
ask the Lord to give you bold faith to approach Him with confidence for all of
your needs and for the needs of others. Thank Him that you can come
boldly to His throne of grace at any hour, day or night. Praise Him for being
such a faithful and loving God who hears and answers and meets your every need,
who heals your every hurt! |
