LORD, SEND YOUR WIND (Part 1)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “Lord, Send Your Wind” by Mother Willie Mae Rivers (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Oct/Nov 2007).

Introduction

God is calling you to do something that will position you for the great things ahead! He is calling you to yield to the wind of His Spirit. Ask Him to cleanse and purify you. Then get ready for Him to bring to you great things ahead!

What God Says

Read: Psalm 1:1-3.

Write it out and meditate on what it means to you.

Deeper Insight

Read the following scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each passage reveals the power of the wind of the Spirit.

Psalm 1:1-3: ________________________________________________

Luke 12:12: _______________________________________________

Acts 1:8: __________________________________________________

Ephesians 1:4: _________________________________________________

Application

Fill in the blanks of the scriptures or portions of scriptures below (which are in NKJV), taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. Afterward, check to see how you did by looking up the scriptures. Put them on 3x5 cards or enter them into your computer (perhaps as a screen saver). These can be powerful reminders of the wind of God’s Spirit on your life!

Psalm 1:3: “He shall be like a ____ planted by the ______ of ____, that ____ forth its ____ in its _____. . . .”

Luke 12:12: “For the ____ _____ will _____ you in that very ____ what you ought to ____”

Acts 1:8: “But you shall receive ______ when the _____ ____ has come upon you; and ___ shall be _________ to Me in _______, and in all _____ and _______, and to the end of the ______.”

Ephesians 1:4: “Just as He ____ us in ____ before the _______ of the world, that we should be ____ and without ____ before Him in ____.”

For Group Study

Begin your group time by first reading aloud Luke 12:12. Discuss how the Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and can guide and protect us daily. Encourage testimonies of how group members have seen evidence of these truths in their own lives.

Close the meeting with prayer, thanking the Lord for the wind of His Sprit that cleanses and purifies so that God can use each one greatly! Thank Him for the great things ahead that God has for each one!

Prayer

Memorize Luke 12:12. Read it aloud as part of your prayer, giving thanks to the Lord that the Holy Spirit gives you wisdom in all things and discernment and the very words to speak in daily situations. Thank the Lord that He is with you continually, empowering you for the great things He has for you now—and in the days to come!
