Week 9

HOW JESUS HEALED PEOPLE

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “How Jesus Healed People by Glenn Clark (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Oct./Nov., 2007).

Introduction

How would you like to move in greater prayer power? The Lord desires that you reach and touch the hurting, so that they might be made well and whole! Let Christ’s teachings serve as a model for you when you minister healing through prayer.

What God Says

Read: Mark 9:2.

Write it out.

Deeper Insight

Read the following scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each passage reveals or says something about the power and presence of God.

Mark 9:2: ________________________________________________

Ps. 91:1-2: __________________________________________________

Matt. 18:19: __________________________________________________

Mark 9:23: ___________________________________________________

Application

Below are themes from the scriptures taken from the previous Deeper Insight section, NKJV. Match the letter of each theme with the correct scripture listing. When finished, look up the scriptures to see how you did. Put the scriptures on 3x5 cards or enter them into your computer (perhaps as a screen saver). Get the promises of God into you regarding His power at work in you when you minister healing to others.

THEMES

a. If you can believe, all things are possible

b. Two in coming into agreement in prayer

c. Jesus transfigured on the mountain

d. Secret place of the most high

SCRIPTURE LISTINGS

____Mark 9:2

____Psalm 91: 1

____Matt. 18:19

____Mark 9:23

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud Ps. 91 (entire chapter). Take it line by line and discuss what all each line might mean and what it means to the members, as well. Encourage testimonies of how this chapter has helped members of the group through various challenging situations.

Close the meeting with prayer, thanking the Lord for protecting the group members at all times and for giving them favor and His anointed presence and power to be able to minister healing to others.

Prayer

Memorize Ps. 91:1-2. Read it aloud as part of your prayer, and then thank the Lord that He has placed you “in the secret place of the most high”—safe and out of harm’s way. Thank Him that you live in His continual presence and power, so that when you minister healing to others through your prayers, miracles happen! Give all glory to the Lord!
