SAY YES TO GOD’S PROMISES (Part 2)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “Say Yes to God’s Promises” by Heidi Baker (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Dec/Jan 2007).

Introduction

God is always speaking to you, but are you listening? And are you willing to be open to where He is leading you—even if it costs you something or costs you greatly? God’s Word will direct you in His promises for your life. Get ready to say yes to them! You have everything to gain in the long run!

What God Says

Read Matt. 6:33.

Write it out. Think about what it means for your life.

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what God is saying to you through each Scripture about how you must rely on God for directions on your life.

Matt. 6:33: _______________________________________________________

1 Thess. 5:24: ____________________________________________________

1 Tim. 6:12: ______________________________________________________

Heb. 11:6: _______________________________________________________

Application

Below are Scripture listings. They match the themes listed below them (paraphrased, out of order). Place the Scripture listing in the blank next to the correct theme. Look up the Scriptures and see how well you did. Memorize them. Getting God’s Word in you can only empower you to say yes (and to do) His great promises for your life!

Matt. 6:33

1 Tim. 6:12

Heb. 11:6

1 Thess. 5:24

_____ He (who has called you) is faithful.’

_____We are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

_____Fight the good fight of faith!

_____Without faith it is impossible to please Him.

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud 1 Thess. 5:24, and then discuss how this is so. Encourage testimonies! Then read aloud 1 Tim. 6:12 and discuss what it means to “fight the good fight of faith.” Encourage testimonies of how group members did so and what happened in their favor—or how they emerged victoriously!

Close the group session in prayer with thanks to God that He is faithful and how He honors our faith.

Prayer

Memorize Matt. 6:33 and pray thanks to God that as you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness that He is assuring of taking care of your every need! Thank Him for His love and faithfulness, and thank Him for empowering you to serve Him and to say yes to Him as He calls you!
