The Daughters’ Inheritance (Part 1)
By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.
Begin your study by reading “The Daughters’ Inheritance” by J. Lee Grady (SpiritLed Woman magazine, April/May, 2006).
Just think—even though the church has often refused to acknowledge women for leadership roles, God, nonetheless, has created women to be equal with men. Not only that, God has empowered women for strong leadership roles and has commissioned them to take the land for His kingdom.
Read Joshua 17: 6.
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each passage might be saying something encouraging to women (besides men) about leadership and significant roles in ministry.
Luke 4:18-19: ___________________________________________________
Luke 8: 1-3: ____________________________________________________
2 Cor. 5:20: _____________________________________________________
Eph. 4:11-12: _____________________________________________________
Application
Fill in the blanks of the Scripture below (NKJV) taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. The Scripture is from Luke 4:18-19, where Jesus is quoting the book of the prophet Isaiah. Check afterward to see how you did by looking it up. Put the passage on a 3x5 card. Carry it with you, as an encouragement for the call to leadership in ministry upon your life.
Luke 4: 18-19:
“The _________of the ______ is upon Me, because ____ has _______Me to _______the gospel to the ______; He has sent Me to _______the brokenhearted, to proclaim _______to the captives and _________of sight to the ______, to set at _______those who are oppressed; to proclaim the ______year of the ______. “

Prayer
Memorize Luke 4:18-19. Pray that you begin to seek and then receive daily empowerment for the greater roles of ministry that God has for you. Welcome these roles! Know that God’s own Word has anointed and appointed you for “such a time as this”!
