Week 2 Click Here For Printable Version The Daughters’ Inheritance (Part 2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.
Begin your study by reading “The Daughters’ Inheritance” by J. Lee Grady (SpiritLed Woman magazine, April/May, 2006).
IntroductionJust because God’s Word leaves out the word “women” is no sign that God does not want women in ministry! In fact, His Word is filled with examples of women in ministry. Consider that you, as the daughter of the Most High God, could even move into the apostolic arena. That, too, is open to not just the men. Daughter, expect great things from your heavenly Father who created you to do His great work on this earth.
What God SaysRead Acts 16:14-15.
Write out Acts 16:39-40. In doing so, contemplate the role of Lydia and how God used her significantly in ministry.
Deeper InsightRead the following Scriptures (in the New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each Scripture is telling you about God empowering you to minister to others.
Phil. 3:14: ______________________________________________________
Phil. 4:13: _______________________________________________________
2 Tim. 3:16-17: ___________________________________________________
2 Tim. 4:2: _______________________________________________________ Application Below are paraphrased statements taken from the Scriptures from the previous Deeper Insight section (NKJV). Some are accurate, while others are not—perhaps using a word that is not found in the New King James version or lacking a word that would appear in the NKJV. If the entire sentence is accurate according to the NKJV, then mark it true. If inaccurate or incomplete, mark if F for false. (Need we say, do not look up the answers as you go, but afterward, to see how you did!) Memorize the correct way to say them.
_______Phil. 3:14: “I press toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
_______Phil 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
_______2 Tim. 3:16: “All Scripture is given by God, and is profitable for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
_______2 Tim. 4:2: “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.”
For Group Study Begin your group time by reading aloud 2 Tim. 3:16-17, then open it up for interpretation (what each thinks the meaning of this Scripture is) and discussion. Discuss how powerful the phrase, “given by inspiration of God” is—and what it might be saying about God speaking directly to people when they wrote the passages that would become “the Bible.” Explore how God still speaks to people today, men and women alike. If there are enough in attendance, break into groups (otherwise stay in one group) and share how God has spoken to various ones. Talk about what happened and how they were blessed by it.Close the group session in prayer—asking the Lord to be with and to speak to each member—His “daughters”–that each will begin to walk in His greater presence and power each and every day—growing into more of a voice—His voice.
PrayerMemorize 2 Tim. 4: 2. Ask the Lord to equip you with wisdom, right training, and His anointing so that you can be ready at any time to minister with His great presence and power!
