Week 1 THE FIGHT IS ON! (Part
1) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “The Fight Is On!” by Kimberly Daniels (SpiritLed Woman magazine, April/May
2007). Introduction
We
are hit daily by the wiles, deceptions, and attacks of the devil. And whether
we like it or not, we must fight back if we are to win over them! We must be
not only on “high alert” but ready to know how to resist these attacks. God’s
Word prepares and equips us to do so—giving us the victory! What
God Says
Read Eph. 6:11. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version), as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each passage is saying to you about how God is preparing you to fight back—and win—over the wiles and attacks of the enemy. Isa. 61:1: ___________________________________________________ Matt. 12:43: _________________________________________________ Eph. 6:11: ____________________________________________________ Eph. 6:12: ___________________________________________________ Rom. 6:16: ____________________________________________________ Application Fill in the blanks of the Scriptures below (NKJV)
taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. Check afterward to see how you
did by looking up each one. Put them on 3x5 note cards, memorizing them, as
powerful reminders that God Almighty is equipping you to be a victor in every
circumstance of spiritual warfare. Isa. 61:1: “The ____ of the ____ ____ is upon
Me, because the Lord has appointed Me to ____ good tidings to the ___; He has
sent Me to heal the __________, to proclaim liberty to the ________, and the
opening of the _______ to those who are _____.” Matt. 12:43:” When an ______ spirit goes out of
a man, he goes through _____ ________, seeking ______, and finds ______.” Eph. 6:11: “Put on the ____ _______ of God,
that you may be able to ________ against the ____ of the devil.” Eph. 6:12: “For we do not ______ against ____
and ____, but against __________, against ______, against the _____ of ____
________ of this _____, against _________ hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
________.” For Group Study Begin
your group time by reading aloud Ephesians 6:11 and then Ephesians 6:12. Share
among the group what each one means. Then discuss ways in which they can (and
do daily) put on the whole armor of God. Also discuss certain real life
circumstances where they might encounter difficult or “impossible” people and
then how they might deal with them differently, with the understanding that there
might be the principalities behind them. Encourage them to be specific and to
get real.
End the meeting by taking prayer requests, and then pray
that the Lord empower each one to stand firm and to fight back under God’s
Almighty authority.
Prayer Memorize
Eph. 6:11, and read it as part of your prayer. Thank the Lord that because you
have the full armor of God on you that you are equipped to stand strong against
the wiles of the devil at any time, under any pressure, against any temptation.
Thank Him for giving you the power and the victory in all situations! |
