Week 2 THE FIGHT IS ON! (Part
2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “The Fight Is On!” by Kimberly Daniels (SpiritLed Woman magazine, April/May
2007). Introduction
God’s Word will equip you
how to resist the devil and it will teach you how to combat him, head-on
through godly actions and from refraining from ungodly actions. It will empower
you in both, so that you will walk in new strength and the power to walk the
walk in Christ. What
God Says
Read Prov.
24:16. Write it out. Be encouraged!
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what God is saying to you to you about His victory He’s giving you. Prov. 24:16: ______________________________________________________ Gal. 4:7: _________________________________________________________ Gal. 5:16: ________________________________________________________ 1 Tim. 6:12: ______________________________________________________ Application Below are Scripture listings, taken from the previous
Deeper Insight section (drawn from NKJV). Each contains a certain theme (listed
below them). Match the letter of the verse with the line (where the theme is).
Then look up the verses and see how you did. Memorize all listings. This will
get the powerful promises of God inside you, lifting you up, strengthening you,
and encouraging you to know that you always have the victory in Him, no matter
what you face! a. Gal. 4:7 b. 1 Tim. 6:12 c. Prov. 24:16 d. Gal. 5:16 THEMES _____fight the good fight of faith _____though the righteous may fall, they will rise
again _____we are heirs of God through Christ _____ we are to walk in the Spirit For Group Study Begin
your group time by reading aloud 1 Timothy 6:12, and discuss what all it might
mean. Encourage group members to share testimonies of when they fought the good
fight of faith and, as a result, walked in victory.
Close the
group session in prayer with thanks to God that He is empowering each member
with newfound power to fight the good fight of faith in what they face or are
walking through—for ultimate victory through Christ! Prayer
Memorize
1 Timothy 6:12. Read it aloud as part of your prayer, and thank the Lord that
He has not only given you the faith you need to fight the good fight of faith,
but He has given you the victory! Thank Him that you are no longer a victim of
anyone or of any circumstances, but with your (fight of) faith, you lay claim
to new power and to the promises of God that give you astounding outcomes! |
