Week 2 Take the Risk of Faith (Part 2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.
Begin your study by reading “Take the Risk of Faith” by Naomi Dowdy (SpiritLed Woman magazine, June/July, 2006).
IntroductionHow are you living your life daily? Are you living it by what you encounter, as you go, or are you living it by the powerful promises of God’s Word? How would you like to no longer be bound by your doubts and fears of what you see and encounter, but rather be free to hope for—and experience—blessings and more blessings? God’s Word will instruct you how to live in faith and the power of His Word, revealing to you a great destiny created by a great God who loves you!
What God SaysRead Matt. 8:14-15.
Write out Matt. 8:15. Ponder how faith is at work here in Peter’s mother-in-law.Deeper InsightRead the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each Scripture is telling you about God honoring your faith.
Matt. 9:29: ______________________________________________________
Matt. 21: 21:_____________________________________________________
Matt. 21:22: _____________________________________________________
Rom. 10:17: _____________________________________________________ Application Below are general themes of Scriptures and the Scripture listings themselves taken from the Deeper Insight section (NKJV). Match the letter of the theme in the blank next to its proper listing (the choices are out of order, of course). Afterward, look up the Scriptures and see how accurate you were. It is important to know general themes of Scriptures, for you might need to refer to them as you minister hope and faith to others.
a. mountain moving faith b. faith coming by hearing the Word of God c. according to your faith (be it unto you) d. whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you’ll receive.

____ Matt. 21:21
____ Matt. 21:22
____ Rom. 10:17
For Group Study Begin your group time by reading aloud Matt. 21: 21 and Matt. 21:22. Discuss the significance of each one and then how each of these are “connected” in meaning.Share testimonies. Share needs, then encourage each other (in a whole group or into smaller groups) in the faith that no matter what mountain we face, Jesus has given us authority to move it by our faith!Close the group session by asking for prayer needs, then stand on these two Scriptures to move mountains in the group members’ lives (and lives of their families)!
PrayerMemorize Matt. 21:21. Ask the Lord to give you encouragement and strength to speak to your mountain(s) daily and to know that one by one (or altogether) they are moved into the sea! That the Lord for His ever-abiding presence and power with you 24/7! |
