Week 4
A Fresh Look at the Lord (Part 2)
By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.
Begin your study by reading “A Fresh Look at the Lord” by Anne Lotz Graham (SpiritLed Woman magazine, June/July 2006).
God is holy, so when you encounter Jesus, you cannot help but be transformed! When you meet Jesus you cannot help but be convicted of sin, leading you to turn away from it to His powerful love and healing, as a result.
Read Ps. 42: 7.
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes from each Scripture of what it has to say about the Lord and His relationship with you.
Ps. 42:7: ________________________________________________________
Ps. 103:11: ______________________________________________________
Ps. 138:8: _______________________________________________________
Ps. 145:9: _______________________________________________________
Ps. 136 (entire chapter): ___________________________________________
Application
Below are Scriptures from the previous Deeper Insight section (NKJV)). Fill in the blanks with the accurate words. Afterward, look up the Scriptures and see how accurate you were. Make 3 X 5 cards, then memorize each, getting the power of God’s Word within you, to help you stand strong as a woman of sexual integrity.
Ps. 42:7: “______ calls unto _____ at the _________ of your waterfalls.”
Ps. 103:11: “For as the ___________ are _____ above the _____, so great is His _____ toward those who ____ Him.”
Ps. 138:8: “The Lord will ______ that which ______ me.”
Ps. 145:9: “The Lord is _____ to all, and His tender _____ are over all His ______.”
For Group Study
Begin your group time by reading aloud Ps. 145: 9. Discuss the significance and what it might mean in various circumstances. As well, taking turns, read aloud all of Ps. 136, and then go around the group asking each member to mention one verse and how it ministered to her.
Close the group session in prayer, thanking the Lord for His love and mercy. Thank Him that this week He is refreshing and restoring each member, bringing internal revival!
Memorize Ps. 145: 9, and thank the Lord that His mercy is truly above all of His works. Thank Him that no matter what you are going through –or face—that He is in control, and that His mercy is great enough to carry your load, provide for you, and to move you past defeat to victory. Thank Him that because of His holy presence in your life, your are refreshed daily in Him.
