Week 2

Prayer That Shakes the Earth (Part 2)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “Prayer That Shakes the Earth” by Rebecca Greenwood (SpiritLed Woman magazine, June/July 2007).

Introduction

How would you like to be used more greatly by God? You can! God’s Word will reveal a great God who has great plans for you!

What God Says

Read 2 Cor. 4:1.

Write it out. Get hopeful to be an active instrument of a great God, who is going to use you in great ways!

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what God is saying to about your being His active representative in Christ.

2 Cor. 4:1: ______________________________________________________

2 Cor. 5:20: _____________________________________________________

Eph. 2:6: ______________________________________________________

Eph. 4:1-6: _____________________________________________________

Application

Below are scripture listings, taken from the previous Deeper Insight section (drawn from NKJV). See if you can either write them out from memory or write the theme that each conveys. Then look them up and see how you did. Memorize all scriptures, word for word. This will not only encourage you to “carry” inside you God’s promises to use you greatly, but you can readily share with others His desire to do so with them!

2 Cor. 4:1

2 Cor. 5:20

Eph. 2:6

Eph. 4:1-2

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud Eph. 4:1-2. Have the group share what these two verses mean. Encourage them to share testimonies of how others have shown God through them, demonstrating His love when they needed it.

Close the group session in prayer, thanking God for helping each group member to become an active voice and the very demonstration of God and His love towards others.

Prayer

Memorize 2 Cor. 5:20. Read it aloud as part of your prayer. Thank the Lord that He has appointed and anointed you to be an ambassador of Jesus Christ through your day and week. Thank Him that, as a result, you are the very expression of Jesus Christ---letting your light of Christ so shine that others will see Him and His love for them!
