Week 8

THE SAME FAITH (Part 1)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “The Same Faith” by George Müller (SpiritLed Woman magazine, June/July 2007).

What God Says

Read Ps. 37:5.

Write it out. Contemplate its meaning related to your life.

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each passage is saying to you about trusting God and letting Him guide your life.

Ps. 37:5: ______________________________________________________

Prov. 3:5-6: ______________________________________________________

Matt. 21:22: _____________________________________________________

2 Pet. 3:17: _____________________________________________________

Application

Below are three Scriptures from God’s Word (taken from NKJV of the previous Deeper Insight section) that promise that God will guide your ways, making sure that all of your needs are met.

Check afterward to see how you did by looking up each one. Put them on 3x5 note cards, or on your computer as perhaps a screen saver, memorizing them, as constant reminders of His ever-guiding love in your life.

]

Ps. 37:5: “________ your way to the ____, _______ also in ____, and He shall ______ it to ____.”

Prov. 3:5-6:“_____ in the ____ with all your ____, and lean not on your own ______. In all your ___ acknowledge ____, and He shall ____ your ____.”

Matt. 21:22: “. . . but also if you say to this _________, ‘Be removed and cast into the _____, ‘it will be ____. And whatever _____ you ask in _______, ________, you will receive.”

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud the “mountain moving” part from Matthew 21:22. Discuss among group members how this portion of the Scripture might be applied to any number of daily challenges. Discuss the importance of the word “believing” in this Scripture and how it plays a key role in the removal of “mountains” we face. Encourage members of the group to share testimonies of how they faced mountains of their own and overcame them with prayers of faith and believing.

End the meeting by taking prayer requests of challenges that the group members and their families are facing—“mountains.” Then pray that each member of the group become a “believing believer”! Pray that each member and her family come to know the promises of God through His Word—and begin to walk in them daily as “partakers of Christ!”

Prayer

Memorize Prov. 3:5-6. Read it aloud as the beginning of your prayer. Thank the Lord that you can trust Him in all ways to direct your paths. Thank Him that He has it “all in His hands”—and that you can walk out your day and the future ahead of you with the peace of God, the protection from God, and the favor of God.
