Week 9

THE SAME FAITH (Part 2)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “The Same Faith” by George Müller (SpiritLed Woman magazine, June/July 2007).

Introduction

Did you know that God will meet your every need, each and every day? There is no need to fear for tomorrow, because He is with you every second, looking out for you, making sure that each need of yours is met, no matter how small or great! His Word assures you of these truths!

What God Says

Read John 3:16.

Write it out. Contemplate how much God loves you and is with you!

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what God is telling you in these verses about how much He loves you and is with you.

John 3:16: ___________________________________________________

John 15:7: ___________________________________________________

Rom. 8:32: ______________________________________________________

Rom. 8:38: _______________________________________________________

Application

Below are themes from the Scriptures taken from the previous Deeper Insight section (drawn from NKJV). See if you can match the right Scripture theme with its listing. Place the letter corresponding to the theme in the blank next to each listing. Of course they are out of order and there is one more listing than Scriptures—so ignore it (even though it won’t go away!) and pray you do well.

Afterward, look up the Scriptures, write them out, memorize them and place them on 3 X 5 cards, or on your computer as perhaps a screen saver, as reminders (for you and all with whom you share in your day) of how much you can trust such a loving God! .

a.      God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son

b.      [nothing] shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

c.      He who did not spare His own Son…how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

d.      If you abide in Me and My words abide in you. . . .ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.

____Rom. 8:38

____John 3:16

____John 15:7

____Rom. 8:32

___Phil. 4:19

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud John 15:7. Discuss the principle of Jesus being the Vine and the believers as His branches—and what all it might mean.

Next, discuss the Scripture itself and the word “abide” and its significance and importance. Also discuss abiding relates significantly to asking in faith and to receiving (getting our prayers answered!). Encourage testimonies of how group members abided (or trusted and rested) in the Lord and received or got their prayers answered.

Close the group session in prayer, with the group thanking God they could trust Him so much to answer their prayers, guide them, and to meet all their needs!

Prayer

Memorize John 15:7, and read it aloud as part of your prayer. Thank the Lord that He is worthy to be praised—that you trust Him unconditionally to be the Vine of your life, with you as His branch, drawing strength and power from Him. Thank Him that He provides for you and meets your every daily need—blessing you each day without limit!
