TAKING THE PROPHETIC TO THE STREETS (Part 1)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “Let’s Get the Word Out” by Jill Austin (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Aug/Sept, 2006).

Introduction

Think how truly amazing it is that as carriers of Christ, we can carry His very likeness and compassion, His words, His gestures, and His message to the streets! As His prophetic vessels, we can go to the streets—anywhere—and bring His very presence!

What God Says

Read 1 Cor. 14:39-40.

Write out 1 Cor. 14: 40.

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each Scripture reveals to you how you are to be the representative of Jesus to the world about you.

1 Cor. 14:40:__________________________________________________

2 Cor. 5:20:__________________________________________________

2 Cor. 7:1:___________________________________________________

2 Tim. 4:17-18:________________________________________________

Application

Below are well-known portions of Scriptures taken from the previous Deeper Insight section (using NKJV). See if you can fill in the blanks with the correct word. Look up the Scriptures and see how you did. Memorize them.

1 Cor. 14:40: “”Let all ____ be done _______ and in ______.”

2 Cor. 5:20: “Now then, we are ________________ for Christ. . .”

2 Cor. 7:1: “. . . let us _______ ourselves from all filthiness of the _____ and spirit, perfecting _________ in the _____ of God.”

2 Tim. 4:17: “But the Lord ____ with me and _________ me, so that the message might be ________ fully through ____. . . “

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud 2 Cor. 5:20, and then discuss all the ways in which we might try to be ambassadors for Christ daily.

Close the group session in prayer, giving praise to the Lord that He uses us as His ambassadors, whether at home, at work, in the streets with strangers.

Prayer

Memorize 2 Tim. 4:17 and thank the Lord stands with you as you minister His name and love to the people you encounter in your day. And thank Him for letting others see and experience Jesus when they encounter you in their day.
