Week 4 TAKING THE PROPHETIC
TO THE STREETS (Part 2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “Let’s Get the Word Out” by Jill Austin (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Aug/Sept,
2006). Introduction
You and I are commissioned
by Jesus Himself to move in His presence, His power and authority. Being
commissioned by Jesus, you can express His words, move in His awesome power,
and express His profound compassion for those you encounter in your day. What
God Says
Read Matt.
5:37. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each Scripture has to say about how you are to move and minister in the power of Jesus Christ. Matt. 5:37: ______________________________________________________ John 14:12:______________________________________________________ Rom. 12:1-2:_____________________________________________________ 1 Cor. 3:16:______________________________________________________ Application
Below are themes (paraphrased of Scriptures, based on
the previous Deeper Insight section, using NKJV). Match the letter of the theme
with the Scripture (note: there are more themes than Scripture listings!) Look up each Scripture to see what
its theme is. Memorize the Scripture (and do be aware of its theme), equipping
yourself all the more for the work of ministering to others. Themes: a. He who believes in Me,
greater works than I (Jesus) do, he will do also. b. Present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God. c. Let your Yes be Yes, and
your No, No. d. You are free in Christ. e. You are the temple of
God. f. Do not fear, little
flock. _____ Matt. 5:37 _____ John 14:12 _____ Rom 12:1-2 _____ 1 Cor. 3:16 For Group Study Begin your group time by
reading aloud Rom. 12:1-2, and discuss what it means. Share (encouraging
anecdotes and testimonies) how to do this and any insights from members of the
group. Close the group session in prayer, yielding totally to God,
asking that He receive them and use them, transforming their hearts and minds
for greater service in the Lord’s calling for them. Prayer
Memorize Rom. 12:1-2, and say it aloud, vowing to offer yourself each day to serving the Lord, not conforming to the world but asking the Lord to transform you more each day into His likeness and image. |
