Week 5 DREAM VENTI (Part 1) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “You Must Have a Dream” by Leslie Parrott (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Aug/Sept
2006). Introduction
Have you taken time to dream
lately? Did you know that God—being a big God—desires that you dream big? His
Word shows you how this is so and how He will empower you to make your dreams
happen! What
God Says
Read Psalm
37:4. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each Scripture is telling you about how God prepares you and equips you to dream big and then to bring to fruition those big dreams!. Ps. 37:4:________________________________________________________ Ps. 113:7-9:______________________________________________________ Ps. 121:1-2: ______________________________________________________ Ps. 139:13-14:____________________________________________________ Application It is important to be able to memorize God’s Word—to
get it in you so it can be part of your very being. Carrying God’s Word with
you (in your memory) will equip you to dream big, relying on a big God who has
big plans for you! Below
are three Scripture listings. They are taken from the previous Deeper Insight
section (using NKJV). Match the letter of the location of
the Scripture with its text (or partial text) in the blanks provided. When
finished (and not a moment before!), look up the Scriptures to see what each
says and how accurate you were in knowing where they were. Scripture listings: Ps. 139:13-14 Ps. 113:7-8 Ps. 37:4 ______ “He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts
the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes—with the
princes of His people.“ _______”Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He
shall give you the desires of your heart.” _______” I will praise You, for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” For Group Study Begin your group time by
reading aloud Ps. 121—the entire chapter. Go through each line and discuss what
it might mean and how it might apply to the Lord’s daily “venti”—or big—dreams
and blessings for us.
Close the group session in prayer, going around the group
with each expressing faith for a “venti” or big dream of hers to happen. If
some are too shy about this then the leader should make this a voluntary thing
and conclude the prayer with asking God that He answer the spoken and unspoken
prayers for big dreams to be answered.
Prayer
Read and memorize all of Psalm 121. Read aloud each verse, and as you do, pause and verbally thank the Lord for providing you with the blessing that it conveys. Thank and praise Him that He is a big God who helps you fulfill big dreams! |
