Week 6 YOU MUST HAVE A DREAM
(Part 2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin
your study by reading “Hold On to the Dream” by Leslie Parrott, Ed.D. (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Aug/Sept,
2006). Introduction
Do
you have dreams? How big are they? Did you know that God Almighty desires that
you not only dream regularly, receiving His visions for your life, but that you
dream big? After all, He is a big God! His Word demonstrates it time and time
again. What
God Says
Read Prov. 3:5-6. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what passage has to say about God being a big God, capable of fulfilling any of your dreams and prayers according to His great plans and purposes. Jer. 29:11-13:_____________________________________________________ Jer. 32:17:_______________________________________________________ Jer. 32:27:_______________________________________________________ Matt. 7:11:_______________________________________________________ Application Fill in the blanks of the Scriptures below (NKJV)
taken from the previous Deeper Insight section. Check afterward to see how you
did by looking up each one. Put each one on a 3x5 note card, memorizing them, as
powerful reminders that God Is a big God who is faithful to fulfill the biggest of
dreams. Jer. 29:11: “For I know the _____ that I think
toward ____, says the ____, thoughts of ______ and not of ____, to give you a
_______ and a hope.” Jer. 32:17:”Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have
made the _________ and the ______ by Your great _______and outstretched _____.
There is ________too ____for You.” Jer. 32:27: “Behold, I am the ____, the ___
of all flesh. Is there anything too ________ for Me?” Matt. 7:11: If you then, being _____, know
how to give good gifts to your ______, how much more will your Father who is in
heaven give _____ things to ____ who ___ Him!” For Group Study Begin your group time by reading aloud Jer. 29:11 and Jer. 32:17. Discuss
what each one means to any volunteers from. Name some potentially challenging
circumstances that people find themselves in (like needing money for something
or a healing or dealing with difficult family members, for example), and then
discuss ways in which these two verses might help people in certain
circumstances.
End
the meeting by taking prayer needs and praying that each member will be able to
rely more on a great God with great purposes for her life. Prayer Memorize Jer. 32:27 and
thank the Lord that He is the Lord, the God of all flesh, and there is nothing too hard for Him. Call out
your needs and challenges and over each one, declare this truth from God’s Word
as part of your prayer. |
