GET A G.R.I.P ON GOD’S PROMISES (Part 1)

By Sandra Clifton, D.Min.

Begin your study by reading “A Promise For Every Problem” by Rachel Burchfield (SpiritLed Woman magazine, Aug/Sept 2007).

Introduction

Whatever you are currently going through, whatever you are facing, God is aware of it. He loves you and looks out for you 24/7—every day, every moment. His Word contains His promises for every moment and even every problem that you walk through. Get into His Word and get blessed at all times with the help you need, His strength for you that you will find!

What God Says

Read 2 Cor. 1:20.

Write it out. Think about how this is a blessing to your life.

Deeper Insight

Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of how each passage conveys a message of how you can rely on the faithfulness and promises of God.

2 Cor. 1:20: _____________________________________________________

Heb. 10:23: _____________________________________________________

James 4:7: ______________________________________________________

1 Pet. 5:7: ______________________________________________________

Application

Fill in the blanks of the Scriptures below (which are in NKJV), taken from the previous section (Deeper Insight). Afterward, check to see how you did by looking up the Scriptures. Put them on 3x5 cards or enter them into your computer (perhaps as a screen saver). Let God’s promises get in you and be part of your daily life. Don’t hesitate to share them with others, blessing their day as well!

2 Cor. 1:20: “For all the _________ of God in ___ are ____, and in Him ____, to the _____ of _____ through us.”

Heb. 10:23: “Let us hold ____ the _________ of our ____ without waivering, for He who ________ is _______”

James 4:7: “Therefore ______ to God. ________ the devil and he will ____ from you.”

1 Pet. 5:7: ”.Casting all your _____ upon _____, for He _____ for you.”

For Group Study

Begin your group time by reading aloud Heb. 10:23. Go around the group and share the significance of this verse and just how powerful it is. Encourage testimonies.

Close the meeting with prayer, thanking the Lord for His promises that meet every concern or problem that we could possibly ever have. Thank Him for His faithfulness.

Prayer

Memorize Heb. 10:23. Read it aloud as part of your prayer, and thank Him for His faithfulness and for His Word that contains promises to give you the victory over every problem and need.
