Week 4 GET A G.R.I.P. ON
GOD’S PROMISES (Part 2) By Sandra Clifton, D.Min. Begin your study by reading “A Promise
For Every Problem” by Rachel Burchfield (SpiritLed
Woman magazine, Aug/Sept 2007). Introduction
God’s Word is filled with
His promises for victory in every situation. How do you receive them and “take
hold” of them? His Word shows you how to do so by faith! What
God Says
Read Jer.
1:12. Write it out.
Deeper
Insight
Read the following Scriptures (in New King James Version, as the exercises to follow will be based on that). Make brief notes of what each Scripture is saying about turning in faith to God. Jer. 1:12: ___________________________________________________ Jer. 33:3:___________________________________________________ 2 Cor. 5:7:
__________________________________________________ Application Two
Scripture listings (taken from the previous Deeper Insight section, NKJV) below
have something powerful to say about having faith in God. See if you can recall
what each says, writing down as much as you can from memory. Then look up each
and see how you did! Memorize them. Getting these promises in you will empower
you to walk solidly in His promises for every need of your life. Jer. 33:3:_____________________________________________________ 2 Cor. 5:7_____________________________________________________ For Group Study Begin
your group time by reading aloud Jer. 33:3 and 2 Cor. 5:7. Discuss how these
two Scriptures relate to God’s promise to meet your every need. Talk about how
these are great Scriptures for witnessing to others in their time of need (name
some needs). Some groups might want to role play, improvisational style, some
situations. End the session by encouraging testimonies!
Close
the group session in prayer, thanking the Lord for His promises that meet us at
our time of need and challenge. Thank Him for His mercy and love and for His
faithfulness to our cries, no matter what they are. Prayer
Memorize
Jer. 33:3 and 2 Cor. 5:7. Choose one of them and read it aloud as part of your
prayer. Thank the Lord that He hears your prayers and answers them faithfully
in great and mighty ways! Thank Him for His Word that gives you power to walk
in faith and to believe in a big God who only has your best in mind at all
times! |
